Figuring It All Out

Why letting go of my cushy corporate job was the best decision ever.

There’s room for all of us to grow + glow ✨🙌🏼⁣ ⁣ When one of us elevates, we all elevate. Thanks for taking me on your journey + constantly sharing your joy + motivation. Thank you for never comparing or tearing me down. You’re an absolute queen and I’m crazy lucky to call you BFF + business partner. Can’t wait to continue climbing with you.⁣ ⁣ And if you’re in the market for an attorney or business lawyer, this is the woman you want on your side 👭⁣ ⁣ ⁣ #womenempowerment #girlboss #blogger #livethelittlethings #bossbabeco #thegramgang #womeninbusiness #womenwhohustle #womeninbiz #bossbabes #creativityfound #contentcreator #femtrepreneur #phoenix #arizonawriter #arizona #femalerevolution #workfromhome #businesscoach #elevate #instatips
If there’s one thing I’m ready to completely disappear off the face of the earth, it’s this ⬇️⁣👏🏼 ⁣ Stepping outside and immediately evaluating whether my outfit will “attract attention.”⁣ ⁣ Feeling uncomfortable, scared, or on egg shells the instant I’m not within my own 4 walls.⁣ ⁣ Needing a man to come with me if I: go somewhere at night or have a long walk ahead.⁣ ⁣ Choosing which side of the street I walk on based on the number of men up ahead.⁣ ⁣ Walking with my head down and eyes averted because I’m hoping to blend in.⁣ ⁣ Constantly resisting the urge to yell profanities at every man who whistles, screams, or hollers at me.⁣ ⁣ Cat calling is NOT complimenting. Whistling is NOT cute. I am NOT your “baby” or “sweetie” or “damnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!!!” ⁣ ⁣ I am a living, breathing human being. Treat me, and every other person, as such. ⁣PLEASE. ⁣ I’m sick of the questions like: “what we’re you wearing though?” Because I’ve been cat called in this outfit, and the next (swipe ➡️) ⁣ ⁣ A better question would be: “where were you on the day they taught respect? Apparently not in class.”⁣ ⁣ Keep your comments and your hands to yourself. If you feel the need to yell at a group of women, don’t. If you’re thinking about slowing your car down to whistle and stare at my ass, think again—keep moving.⁣ ⁣ It is NOT a female’s job to avoid these situations or choose a better outfit or silently walk by and ignore them. NO.⁣ ⁣ It is everyone’s job to maintain a level of respect and kindness you’d reserve for your most loved grandmother on CHRISTMAS FREAKING MORNING. If you wouldn’t say it to granny, don’t come saying it to me.⁣ ⁣ #catcalling #respect #leave #us #alone #empowerment #safety #womensrights
There’s going to come a time when it hits you in the face: the only moment that matters is this one. The one happening right now.⁣ ⁣ And slowly, all the other stuff fades away. The likes, the money, the clothes, the fake friends, the need to be noticed. ⁣ ⁣ None of it matters. Not an ounce. ⁣ ⁣ What matters is living a life you’re proud of. One that brings you abundant joy and endless laughter.⁣ ⁣ What matters is being a good friend, daughter, sister, mentor, and human.⁣ ⁣ What matters is taking up space—all the space you can. Owning who you are. Owning what you believe in.⁣ ⁣ What matters is following the path YOU want to follow and doing so with persistence, kindness, and a never ending will to be true.⁣ ⁣ What matters is that you love hard, speak kindly, laugh often, and fill every last second with people and places that feel like home.⁣ ⁣ Make your moments matter. Even when they feel endless.
Been high on life lately & this seems to be the only appropriate representation of how I feel ✨ I hope you can relate. And if you can’t, I hope you find whatever it is you’re needing in this moment to get there.
THANKFUL 🥰
Signs it might be time to re-evaluate your relationship with food: - choosing something lower calorie over something you actually want to eat strictly because of the calorie count - opting for low-fat versions of food because you feel better about eating them and they sound healthier - reading a nutrition label and immediately putting it back because the carb count seems too high - refusing to eat when you’re hungry because you already reached your calorie allotment or because your food tracker says you’re done for the day - choosing vodka water not because you think it tastes good but because it has less sugar and calories than the drink you actually want - freaking out when you can’t see what’s in your food or know the amount of calories or macro count - feeling genuine fear about dessert or “bad snacks” - supplementing shakes & protein bars for real food because PROTEIN PROTEIN PROTEIN - feeling like you have to earn dessert, snacks, or meals - not partaking in family events because there will be tempting food there - consistently weighing yourself and only feeling peace when the number goes down - feeling immense guilt around food Diet culture tells us all this is normal, but it’s not 🤯 what’s “normal” is eating food to fuel your body, care for your mind, and maintain health. Sure, different goals call for different tactics, but when you catch yourself doing the above actions / having the above thoughts often, it’s a sign diet culture has taken over. A few tips to take your power back: - talk to a dietitian about your current habits & food choices to see if they’re aligned with your goals & current health status - find a therapist to talk to about your food fears & disordered thinking to find tools & resources to work through them - throw out your scales & eat when you’re hungry - make a rule between you & your roommates/significant other/friends/family that no negative food talk happens: AKA you don’t bash yourself or your choices and you don’t say things like “I want to get ice cream but don’t deserve it” Food shouldn’t stress you out & make you feel shitty—it should make you feel good & give you energy & help you do the things you do better 🥰
